Heron Cove Chapel — Brigitte’s Memorial Chapel

47 Heron Road, Eliot, Maine

A Sanctuary Unlike Any Other

Nestled along the quiet, winding roads of southern Maine, Heron Cove Chapel—lovingly known as Brigitte’s Memorial Chapel, created and cultivated by George Gefrich—is a sacred haven of healing energy, serenity, spiritual awakeness, and perpetual beauty. This is a utopia suspended in time,  where angels sing, fairies dance, flowers exhale in elegance and God whispers gently, love, love, love! Resting beside a tranquil pond and graceful bridge, Heron Cove Chapel is surrounded by the aligned harmony of nature filled with monarch butterflies dancing, deer and squirrels wandering freely, an array of birds in the air and in the reflective pond, as the soft flow of the wind moves through majestic colorful trees.

Heron Cove Chapel was founded in loving memory of Brigitte Gefrich, the esteemed wife of George Gefrich, whose devotion and vision preserved the land as a living tribute to their endless love. What began as an act of dedication has become a sanctuary that now radiates peace, healing energy, and a connection to the Divine—a place where broken hearts heal to return to joy and love again, tears turn to laughter, miraculous dreams take root, and lost souls awaken to remember their purpose. Life is not simple. Everyone who has lived knows life holds both pain and pleasure. This land holds both while healing is a constant. We are honored for all who come to share in their healing and pleasure as we have done in kind. Life is eternal....it is a gift...Heron Cove is a gift...Feel, Heal, Live, and Love!

A Landscape of Spiritual Healing and Divine Light

Heron Cove Chapel, "a tranquil vortex", is a consecrated land where heaven and earth meet as one.  Walking in focused meditation while spending a quiet moment in pontification and prayer allows all who visit Heron Cove to step into the very heartbeat of the Great Mother Earth, surrounded by the embrace of the Powerful Father Sky.

Come and enjoy the charming gazebo as it invites quiet reflection beneath the open sky, while the nearby golden bridge "over blessed waters"—dedicated to Joanne, whose love and care for the colorful garden continuously brings  each spring to life—in addition to the grace and character of the eleven acres of breathtaking landscape.

Every autumn, Oktoberfest is joyfully celebrated at Heron Cove during September's end, honoring community, good German food, laughter, music, and the abundant spirit of the season amidst Maine’s golden fall beauty.
